Cross-country skiing at Lake Wenatchee

It’s been a beautiful snowy March here in Plain, Washington. We decided to take advantage of the sunny weather to go cross-country ski at Lake Wenatchee. Lake Wenatchee is a 15 minute drive from Leavenworth Little Bear cabin. To access the trails you need to purchase a 15 dollar snowpark pass which you can get through a self-service box when you park at Lake Wenatchee. There are options to ski at both the north and south end of the Lake. Both sides have trails that run right next to the Lake! We opted for trying the South end on this trip. We rented our skis, boots and poles from the Plain Hardware store for a total of 18 dollars. We were told there should be at least two weeks left of skiing in the Lake Wenatchee area and Plain. To access the Plain cross-country ski trails drive 3 minutes from the cabin to the Plain Hardware store. The trails start directly across the street.
